Travel search engine utilising machine learning algorithms to dynamically package and automatically purchase travel products and packages.
Project Goals
Goal: Implementation of the MVP built during as part of Startup Platform and after the incubation, along with extension with functionalities enabling production implementation and scaling of the project on the domestic and foreign markets. * Results/Effects Introducing to the Polish and foreign tourism market the product innovation Ticketwhat - a package travel search engine with innovative purchasing options based on the analysis of price fluctuations of each component of the package using machine learning algorithms and automatic purchase of the package on behalf of the traveller at the right time, at the most bargain price and within a single booking. Ticketwhat's operating model is based on cumulative high total variation in the price of travel components (flight, hotel and extras) ranging from a few to several tens of per cent, depending on the time between booking and the start of travel (so-called time-to-travel). These result from the non-uniform so-called 'yield management' strategies of each airline as well as each hotel (or chain).
Project Planned Effects
The result of the project is an online travel search engine that enables the automatic purchase of the best (cheaper than currently available) travel bargains by analysing billions of data on current and historical prices of flights, hotels and so-called 'bnb' using machine learning algorithms to predict prices and availability, based on a proprietary inventory database. The product will be aimed in particular at bargain hunters or city-break travellers. * Key activities - Preparation of the solution and production launch, technological work on MVP development - Implementation of image and marketing campaigns - Integration of tools to optimise the company's day-to-day operations, e.g. sales, claims handling
